Heated Gloves and Extreme Winter Sports: PERFECT!

Now I do not mean to brag but as some of my friends know, I am quite good at extreme winter sports. From skiing, snowboarding, sledding and even throwing good ol’ snowballs, I am a winter sports god! Sort of, anyway. That’s why I always make it a point to find products which can improve my performance. In fact, it’s not just about playing sports, even just doing extraneous activities during wintertime can be very brutal on the body, that’s why finding products which can help you battle the cold is not only essential for excellent play but it is also for making sure your healthy every step of the way.

Heated Gloves
A pair of heated gloves is one good sample of one of my recent finds. See, before I found out about them, I used to wear very, very thick gloves during winter. The reason being that I needed both warmth and protection every time I go outside and play.

But then, I discovered the wonders of heated gloves. Haha. These gloves look and feel like typical gloves. Even when worn, it feels like they’re nothing out of the ordinary, But then, what you don’t know is that it has specially designed heating alloys which are embedded within the glove itself. You can’t even notice these heating elements because they’re so minute.

When you switch it on, however, that’s when you realize how much it can do. Utilizing the hi-tech heating devices, located within the perimeter of the hands, a winter loving guy like me can stay warm and comfy for hours and hours of playing. Now, winter athletes like me don’t have to ‘bulk it up’ just to keep warm and ready whenever we need to perform outside. Ergo, our hands remain agile all the time.

And because the heated gloves have a tough exterior (particularly the epic series gloves from heatedgloves.info), it can withstand constant daily use and punishment from my rough lifestyle. So whether I’m sledding or snowboarding, my hands will remain safe and warm inside my gloves all throughout the winter games.

There’s something about Heated Jackets

There’s just something about heated jackets. I dunno. It’s just that ever since I bought one from the internet (plusheat.com), I’ve grown to be more and more fascinated about them. I mean, it’s part jacket and it’s part “the future!” Imagine me saying that complete with cheesy hand gestures and bombastic horns for emphasis.

For those not in the know, these jackets deceivingly look like your everyday normal ones. But once you put in on, you’ll instantly know the difference between a normal boring one and a super hi-tech marvel of a jacket.

What is a heated jacket?

I’m glad you asked. These jackets are clothes specially made to provide heat every time the wearer (i.e. You) demands it. You see jackets, like all types of clothing, rely on residual body heat to maintain warmth. The problem with this, however, is that residual body heat tends to dissipate after some time. Even faster during wintertime.

And now, this is where the hi-tech stuff kicks in. Micro-alloy heating elements are placed within the jacket so that heat can be accessed instantly via remote control. Even more cooler, if yours is as cool as mine (puns intended), you’ll be able to customize the heat from warm to toasty hot in just a matter of clicks.

Just imagine, you can now be a winter god! Moving with ease across the Alps. Traversing the slopes while being as light as a feather. Forget about that itchy sweater, man. With this wonderful piece of textile, all you need is yourself and you’re good to go. No more layers upon layers of clothing just to walk a few measly steps across the driveway. No more turtlenecks and funny looking holiday sweaters to deal with every time the snowflakes start falling. Well, not unless your grandma or your kooky aunt gives you one in which case, you have to wear it for the time being.

There’s just something about heated jackets. It could be that they’re totally useful. It could be that they’re something straight from the future. It could be that I can’t leave home without it. Or maybe, I just really love them and they keep me warm at night just like a hug.

Facing the Great Outdoors with a Heated Jacket

As an avid fan of the outdoors, I'm always on the lookout for new and better ways to camp, hunt and, in general, enjoy the great beauty of nature without compromising anything. With the constant battle with nature and all the harsh conditions that she can throw at us, performing at our peak levels is always a must.

One recent found of mine are these very cool, and might I add very essential, heated jackets. In layman's terms, these heated jackets are like your conventional everyday jackets save for the fact that they can provide constant heating on demand. But take note, they are not bulky pieces of equipment. The jackets have these very thin heating pads which run throughout parts of the jacket and you can hardly feel them, which is great especially when you're sleeping. Lying down with something poking your back is hardly enjoyable, you see.

Anyway, I bought a heated jacket just recently and I took her out for a test drive during our hunting trip to Georgia. And just to make sure everything would work out, I bought a couple of extra batteries just in case my battery pack runs out of juice.

At first, I was quite hesitant of shedding away all the layers of clothing I had on. As an outdoorsman, you get quite used to this despite the bulk of clothes you're carrying around. However, I soon had to abandon all the hesitation because as I turned the heated jacket on, things got way too hot. I soon realized that I had too many layers and the heated jacket could take the place of most of them.

I also tried experimenting with the different temperature settings, trying to find the perfect warmth I was most comfortable with. In the end, though, I found that alternating between max and min temp is enough to keep me comfy all throughout the day.

And have I mentioned, I have never felt as mobile as I did when I wore my 12V heated jacket. My fellow outdoorsmen were walking like puffy camouflaged marshmallow men while I was easily running along the path with superior ease.
